M. Glinka - Sonata in D minor Originally composed for the viola and later on transcribed for clarinet, is a fine work in romantic style. The work is full of singing melodies, accompanied by rich harmonies. This Sonata lends itself rather comfortably to the double bass. It is a recommended piece for advanced high school students, very suitable for college students and could be a great addition to any professional recital.
